Virtually There Press Release
Artistic directors and curators Mafalda Millies and Roya Sachs joined forces to present Virtually There, a performance inspired by Oskar Schlemmer’s Triadic Ballet (1922), hosted by Performa Visionaries at Mana Contemporary in Jersey City in November 2016. Collaborators included: choreography by iconic “punk ballerina” Karole Armitage; costumes by the renowned Brazilian designers the Campana Brothers; staging by Whitney Biennial artists Kate Gilmore and Heather Rowe; music by underground French composer Charles Derenne; and creative production by technology innovators MATTE Projects.
This video is based on "Virtually There: A performance inspired by Oskar Schlemmer's Triadic Ballet". The production originally premiered at Mana Contemporary with artistic directors Mafalda Millies and Roya Sachs bringing together an array of collaborators, including: costumes by the renowned Brazilian designers the Campana Brothers; choreography by iconic 'punk ballerina' Karole Armitage; music by underground French composer Charles Derenne; and staging by Whitney-biennial artists Kate Gilmore and Heather Rowe.
